Over two days, participants will have the opportunity to practice drawing and painting the portrait from a live model.
The weekend will have a Sargent theme: with the model styled in Victorian formal setting and dress.
Demonstrations will be given on how to construct a convincing portrait - initially through a drawing in charcoal (Sargent style), and then later a limited palette oil painting.
This is a casual workshop with demonstrations & tips, but fairly light on teaching/formal structure. You’re welcome to just turn up and paint/draw!
Location: RGA Pop Up Studios @ 138 Friar Street, Reading (UK). 5 mins walk from Reading train station.
Price: £125 for the full weekend
Date: 5th & 6th December 2026 - 10am - 4pm each day
Note: Places are limited. I have 9 slots at the easel (for standing or sitting on a high stool) and 2 seated slots (you’ll need to bring your own low-profile tripod and pochade box/easel). If you’ve missed out on tickets then send me an email katiemaeveart@gmail.com to join the waitinglist
